Week 11:Marketing with Twitter, LinkedIn, Social Influencers

 

 Social Media is constantly changing. New social media websites pop up on the regular, with only a few fighting to be at the forefront. So how should we treat social media platforms that are starting to become less popular? Should we still utilize them and find our market? Or should we slowly let them die out without giving them further attention? Also what about social influencers, i.e. the new brand of celebrity? Over this past year and even the year prior, there were quite a few call outs on Social Media that had to do with the problematic nature of these internet celebrities. Should we still be using them to help market our products? Or should we focus on creating our own marketing campaigns?

Twitter is starting to get phased out, as younger generations catch onto new trends in social media, but that doesn't deplete the usefulness Twitter has as a means to gain a larger following. It really depends on the brand that you are trying to build. Tweets get featured more than average in news articles because it is a direct message from the brand, featured in a way that is more verbally direct than perhaps TikTok or Instagram. 353 million users still regularly log onto Twitter, that should be utilized in order for your company's voice to be heard. Twitter is a viable way to provide a direct quote from your company and spread it further onto your client base. That being said, you really do have to be careful about the content you put out there. If you make a tasteless joke at the detriment of others, you will be held accountable, for years to come.

How Will Linked-in Grow Your Professional Network?

Linked-in can be problematic but also useful. It can be very affluent at times, but if you are able to finally get into your circle of the market, it can really begin to point you into the direction of opening up new doors for both you and your company.
